What does it take to receive? To hold open a need, a wish, a want all the while knowing it may never be fully met?

Through this project, I entered a process of collaboration with my mother, Claire, which continues to this day. The exhibition featured two video works and a live performance inside an unfolding diagram of the structures of this relation. I used chalk to mark the floors and walls of the exhibition space until the structures collapsed into play.

Here, my body becomes the receiver for care that was “missed.”
